J-SHOW: We Are The Raindrops!
After doing my video blog this morning dressed as a raindrop for Halloween, additional hilarity ensued when Meteo Madness Man (PREMIUM | PRO donned the other raindrop costume. I decided to make a blog entry with ALL of our Halloween hijinx and label it with the "J-SHOW" moniker, because it's where I'm filing most of my "Off-Topic" posts these days. Here's a record of what happened today:
FIRST, I came in early and donned the "Drip" (or was I "Drop") costume and did a video blog about Tropical Storm Noel. It wasn't as easy as I would have thought. The costumes are actually professionally done mascot uniforms, complete with cooling packs and fans (which I opted not to use). They aren't really made for sitting, however, so I had to stand up to do the video. As you can see in the video, I also had trouble reaching the keyboard.
Next, since there was no hope of sitting and working in the costume all day, as I had hoped, I snapped a couple of The J-CAM shots...
Then Henry came in and donned the other suit. Ironically, as you can see from the pictures below, I'm taller than him but I ended up in the short suit. Here we are on the Operations Floor, bugging Joe Bastardi while he's cutting videos. Jack Boston, one of our Radio Forecasters, was caught in this picture.
Here we are terrorizing the hallowed halls of AccuWeather:
And here's Henry doing a dance.
Next up, Henry and I did his Map Discussion Video Blog as the raindrops - this might be the funniest example of all, because we both keep trying to have a serious weather discussion, then start cracking up. You can't look at yourself in these costumes and keep a straight face.
Of course Henry and I wearing the AccuWeather.com "Drip and Drop" costumes for our video blogs is nothing compared to this next video, which was actually produced by professionals, and was the original Drip and Drop video, produced around Christmas 2006. It's that time of year, you know... with less rain and more snow, it's time for raindrops to get pink slips, and that drought in the Southeast is not helping...
