The full moon in June is sometimes referred to as the Strawberry Moon. The likely reason is strawberries are usually harvested this month.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Tonight is the smallest <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/FullMoon?src=hash">#FullMoon</a> of 2017! June’s Full Moon goes by many names including:<br>Strawberry Moon<br>Full Rose Moon<br>Honey Moon<br>Hot moon <a href="https://t.co/QlLPyK9stk">pic.twitter.com/QlLPyK9stk</a></p>&mdash; AccuWeatherAstronomy (@AccuAstronomy) <a href="https://twitter.com/AccuAstronomy/status/872954423986749440">June 8, 2017</a></blockquote>

An added bonus: the moon will appear next to Saturn Friday night/Saturday morning. Saturn is not as bright as Jupiter. But, it shines brighter than nearly every other star. So, it should be easy to spot next to the bright moon.

If will be tough to view the more faint objects in the night sky. But, if you are star-gazing, we have the constellations mapped out for you in our Summer Constellation Guide.

Areas in green have the best chance for clear skies, while areas in red have the least chance of clear skies.
