Bad News for Alaska into February

Jan 12, 2012; 11:19 PM ET

Here is my latest interpretation of the ECMWF long-range weekly model for the U.S. and Canada. Looks like a brutal end of the month for Alaska. Warmth comes back into the East for at least a week.

My associate Joe Lundberg wrote an excellent piece in his blog Thursday about long-range weather forecasting. Make sure to check it out.

Confidence level with this model forecast for the Northeast U.S. and Maritimes is quite low for February... a lot of uncertainty.
