Rounds of snow to bring cold, white Christmas to Eastern Europe
Powerful storms could cause trouble for the record number of Americans traveling for the holiday.
Stormy conditions will bring a final shot of cold air, helping to ensure a white Christmas for many in Eastern Europe.
While areas of light snow over the weekend, another storm system moved into Germany and Poland Sunday night.
Along with the wet weather came a drop in temperature, changing rain over to snow by the time the system reached Poland.
"Light snow will continue for Poland throughout the day, as well as for parts of Ukraine, Belarus and northern Moldova," said AccuWeather Meteorologist Tyler Roys.

Cold already in place will allow the highest snow fall totals to be in Ukraine and northern Romania into Christmas Eve night.
This snow could be heavy enough to allow for an accumulation. Roadways could be coated in snow, leading to slippery spots and difficult travel.
The invasion of cold air from the northwest with this storm will keep the fresh snow around into Christmas Day on Tuesday.
"Cites from Warsaw to Kiev could easily have snow lingering on the ground into Tuesday, making for a white Christmas," AccuWeather Meteorologist Richards Richards said.
Across central and western Europe, the chances of a white Christmas continue to dwindle. High pressure and mild air are likely to hold in these areas into late next week, squashing white Christmas hopes outside of the Alps and the Pyrenees.
