Heat to build for 2019 Epsom Derby as dry weather prevails
The first day of June will feel like the middle of summer across the southern United Kingdom for the 2019 Epsom Derby festival on Saturday.
The Epsom Derby is the richest race in Britain and the most prestigious of the English Classics, according to Racing Post.
The race, which is set to take place at 4:30 p.m. BST on Saturday, 1 June, has a long history dating back to 1780.

Other races will take place between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
While cooler air briefly returned on Friday, another surge of warmth will occur Saturday's Derby Day.
Temperatures are set to climb to a high of 26 C (78 F) for the afternoon underneath sunny spells. A high near 18 C (65 F) is more common to start June.

Spectators should be sure to drink plenty of water in order to remain hydrated on Saturday. Light-colored clothing, sunglasses and sunscreen are also suggested for those attending the events.
Several days of dry weather leading up to the race will harden the racing surface, eliminating the risk for any muddy conditions.
