Four Confirmed Tornadoes Slammed Arizona Wednesday
Four confirmed tornadoes touched down and caused damage across northern Arizona during an unusual outbreak of severe weather on Wednesday. The town of Bellemont was hit especially hard.
The tornadoes rattled northern Arizona during the early morning and midday hours Wednesday. KPHO-TV reports that about 200 homes were left damaged, 33 of which are uninhabitable. At least seven people sustained injuries.
The worst damage occurred in and around Bellemont (located west of Flagstaff) when two tornadoes touched down within an hour of each other just before sunrise.
