The college football regular season is almost at its halfway point, and there are some highly-anticipated matchups slated for this weekend.

Two major in-state rivalries will take place this weekend as Miami takes on Florida State and Michigan State battles Michigan.

Weather could cause delays in the Southeast while teams in the central U.S. may have to endure slippery field conditions.

Take a look at the forecast for some of this week's top games:

Wake Forest at No. 2 Clemson - 12 p.m. EDT

The Clemson Tigers will try to avoid a major upset at the hands of the Wake Forest Demon Deacons this week in Death Valley.

It will be a dry but humid day on Saturday with temperatures in the middle to upper 60s for tailgating festivities. By kickoff, the high will be near the 70-degree Fahrenheit mark.

Temperatures will hover in the low 70s through the end of the game. Fans should make sure to stay hydrated and apply sunscreen with a UV Index of 6.

Iowa State at No. 3 Oklahoma - 12 p.m. EDT

The Cyclones will travel to Norman and attempt to knock off the undefeated Sooners this week.

Tailgaters may deal with a shower in the early morning, but it will dry out by kickoff. Conditions will be ideal for the game with a partly sunny sky and slightly cooler weather. The high will be in the upper 60s by kickoff.

Temperatures will rise to the mid-70s by the end of the game. Some breezes up to 12 mph may blow through the south end of the stadium but won't impact play.

No. 4 Penn State at Northwestern - 12 p.m. EDT

penn state

The Nittany Lions will take on the Wildcats at Ryan Field this weekend in a Big 10 East and West clash.

Showers could make for difficult field conditions on an already choppy field. Rain could fall at any point during the game, making for slow play on a slippery field.

Strong winds will also be a factor on the passing and kicking game with gusts up to 35 mph.

Temperatures will hover in the upper 60s at kickoff and rise to the low 70s by the end of the game.

No. 5 Georgia at Vanderbilt - 12 p.m. EDT

Georgia

It will be warm and humid in Nashville on Saturday when the Bulldogs take on the Commodores at Vanderbilt Stadium.

It will be a dry day, but fairly cloudy with intermittent sunshine. Temperatures will rise from the 70s during the morning hours into the 80s for the game. By the fourth quarter, the high will stretch into the mid-80s.

Some light winds will blow into the north end of the stadium but likely will not have an impact on the game.

Ole Miss at No. 12 Auburn - 12 p.m. EDT

ole miss

The Auburn Tigers will square off against the Ole Miss Rebels in an SEC West contest.

It should be dry for early tailgating, but some showers and thunderstorms may fall throughout the game. However, the best chance for wet weather is after the game for any evening tailgating activities.

The high will reach near the 75-degree Fahrenheit mark at kickoff and rise into the low 80s by the fourth quarter.

No. 23 West Virginia at No. 8 TCU - 3:30 p.m. EDT

WVU

This week's Big 12 marquee match up features the Mountaineers against the Horned Frogs in Fort Worth.

Conditions will be dry, warm and humid for the game with temperatures in the 70s and low 80s for pregame tailgating.

The high at kickoff will hit near 85 and hover in the middle to upper 80s throughout the game.

No. 13 Miami at Florida State - 3:30 p.m. EDT

Miami

For this in-state rivalry, the Hurricanes will travel to Tallahassee and take on the Seminoles.

Thunderstorms could cause a delay during the game. Fans should be prepared for wet weather and a potential evacuation.

It will be a warm and humid day, so fans should stay hydrated. By kickoff, the high will approach the 90-degree Fahrenheit mark.

AccuWeather Realfeel® Temperatures will be near 100 at kickoff and stay in the 90s throughout the game. Players may deal cramping issues in the high heat.

Maryland at No. 10 Ohio State - 4 p.m. EDT

Maryland

The Terrapins will travel to Columbus this week to battle the Buckeyes in a Big Ten East showdown.

A shower or thunderstorm may fall over "The Shoe" in the afternoon. Lightning could lead to a delay.

It will be warm for early October with temperatures in the 80s for the first half of the game. Temperatures will fall to the mid-70s by the end of the game.

Winds up to 20 mph could blow toward the north end of the stadium, potentially impacting the kicking game.

Oregon State at No. 14 Southern California - 4 p.m. EDT

Oregon

The Beavers will look for their second win of the season against the Trojans at the Coliseum this weekend.

It will be a standard sunny and beautiful day in Los Angeles with plenty of sunshine.

Conditions will be warm with temperatures in the mid-80s at kickoff. AccuWeather RealFeel® Temperatures will rise into the 90s during the second half.

No. 1 Alabama at Texas A&M - 7:15 p.m. EDT

alabama

The top-ranked Crimson Tide will travel to College Station this week to try to avoid an upset against the Aggies.

Tailgaters will see plenty of sunshine throughout the game with temperatures in the upper 80s. The high at kickoff will reach near the 85-degree Fahrenheit mark and fall into the upper 70s by the end of the game.

Some light winds are expected, but they won't have any impact on play.

Michigan State at No. 7 Michigan - 7:30 p.m. EDT

Michigan graphic

It's an in-state battle this weekend as the Spartans travel to Ann Arbor to take on the Wolverines under the lights at Michigan Stadium.

Rain may fall during the day for tailgating activities and is likely at any point during the game. Heavy downpours could create slick field conditions, slowing play.

However, recent dry weather in Ann Arbor means the ground will absorb rain quickly, so conditions wouldn't deteriorate as much as usual.

The high will hit near 70 at kickoff and fall to the 60s during the game. Winds will blow up to 20 mph at times.

No. 9 Wisconsin at Nebraska - 8 p.m. EDT

Wisconsin

The Badgers will travel to Lincoln this week to take on the Huskers in a Big Ten West matchup.

It will feel like a typical fall day at Memorial Stadium with plenty of sunshine for tailgaters. The high will hit near 70 during the afternoon.

By the 7 p.m. local time kickoff, highs will reach the mid-60s, but conditions will remain dry.

Dry skies are expected. Some winds may gust up to 20 mph at times during the game, favoring the team kicking and throwing into the north end zone for the first half.

No. 11 Washington State at Oregon - 8 p.m. EDT

Washington

The undefeated Cougars will travel to Eugene for this week's Pac-12 North battle against the Ducks.

A mix of sun and clouds is expected with seasonable temperatures. Tailgate weather will be ideal with a high in the mid- to upper 60s.

Clouds will dissipate by kickoff. Fans should bring a sweatshirt or jacket along as temperatures will fall into the 50s by the end of the game.

California at No. 6 Washington - 10:45 p.m. EDT

washington cal

The Golden Bears will take on the undefeated Huskies this weekend at Husky Stadium.

Dry but cool weather is expected for the game. Temperatures will hover in the upper 50s during the day for tailgating activities, which is slightly below normal for this time of year. By the start of the game, the high will be near the 50-degree Fahrenheit mark.

Light winds won't have an impact on the game.
