Can you predict the snow? Try now and earn up to $100

Forecaster Challenge, a unique weather trading game provided by CX Futures Exchange ("CX") and powered by AccuWeather data, has launched a new interface for snowfall trading.

We have listened to your feedback, and are excited to release a new, more intuitive experience within Forecaster Challenge. Now, you can make a prediction in two easy steps! The game currently focuses on snowfall, but also allows players to make predictions based on other types of weather such as rainfall, high and low temperatures, and hurricane landfalls.

How will snow trading work on Forecaster Challenge? A player predicts how much snow they think will fall in a given city on a given day. The point of the game is to get as close to the actual snowfall amount as possible, without going over.

For example, if a player predicts 3 inches of snow and the actual snowfall is 3.5 inches, they will receive a maximum payout. If they had picked 4 inches or greater, they would not get a payout.

How do payouts work? The pool of all AccuDollars traded on each specific city and day is divided proportionally among the players who made correct predictions. The closer predictions are to the actual snowfall amount, the more AccuDollars those players will earn from the pool.

Users can play as a “guest” but should register in order to see and keep track of current and past predictions. When players sign up for the first time, they will receive 25,000 AccuDollars, which have no intrinsic value and are only used to measure success within the game.

Once players accumulate 50,000 AccuDollars, they have the opportunity to convert their balance into real cash. Each 50,000 AccuDollars can be converted into a $10 deposit at CX®, up to a maximum of $100, which can be used on CX TradeWx.

When Forecaster Challenge players are confident enough in their skills, they can trade the weather in financial markets using real money on CX TradeWx.

TradeWx, pronounced ‘trade weather,’ is a site devoted to trading contracts on different types of weather events, offered by CX, a United States regulated derivatives exchange. CX provides an expanding set of financial products relevant to individuals and small businesses to obtain protection against financial risks of snow accumulation and other weather events.

Go to Forecaster Challenge today and practice now so you can learn how to trade because real-money snow trading is coming to TradeWx soon!
