Brooklyn woman's viral rant brings reality check to those fed up with winter
Parents and children went to New York City's Central Park to go snow sledding and have snowball fights on March 2.
While the calendar may read March and spring is just a few weeks away, winter is showing no signs of easing its grip in the northeastern United States.
If some along the I-95 corridor were surprised by the weekend snowstorm that moved through the Northeast, a New York City resident named Diane Joshua wasn't.
In a now viral interview with Pix 11 News, which received nearly 2 million views, Diane from Brooklyn emphatically reminded everyone that winter is still here.
"It's winter, hello?! It's winter," she declared passionately. "I'm not surprised, I love it! It's winter, let's work with it."
She added that the weather this past weekend—highs were in the 40s —felt like a "heat wave" compared to when the temperatures were around "3 degrees" several weeks ago.
Many people on Twitter replied to the video, agreeing with Diane's take on the weather. Some even called for her to deliver their local forecast.
Diane's reaction to the winter weather was reminiscent to Chicago-area resident Judy Ross' profane reaction to a historic stretch of 34 straight days in which precipitation has fallen.
Brooklyn ended up received around 2 inches of snow from the storm, while 5 inches fell in Central Park. Nearly 5 inches was measured at LaGuardia Airport, while nearly 3 inches fell at JFK International Airport.
