Active Week Across Plains for Severe Weather
Thunderstorms, some severe, will threaten central and eastern Texas into early Tuesday morning. The worst of the storms will contain large hail and damaging winds.
The storm responsible for the strong thunderstorms will move toward the Tennessee Valley through the night but any lingering thunderstorms in this area should not be severe.
Tranquil weather is in store across the Plains on Tuesday before a much larger outbreak on Wednesday.
Thunderstorms are expected to fire along a dry line on Wednesday afternoon stretching from western Texas to central Nebraska with thunderstorms capable of producing damaging wind gusts past 60 mph, large hail and even tornadoes.
This threat will continue into Wednesday night as thunderstorms track eastward.
Cities in the line of these storms include Dallas, Oklahoma City, Wichita, Kansas City, Omaha, Sioux Falls, Cedar Rapids and Mankato.
