Jupiter's blue spot, looking for Neptune
Interesting news today as scientists studying Jupiter published strange findings.
Jupiter has a massive magnetic field that is 20,000 times stronger than that of the Earth's!
Meanwhile, the opposition of Neptune is tonight. Neptune is very dim and not visible to the naked eye. But, you can spot it with a telescope.
Neptune appears near Aquarius. It will be in the sky all night. Again, you should be able to see it with a small telescope, and perhaps just binoculars.
The new moon is approaching, so stargazing conditions will be excellent! This is a great time of year to see the Milky Way. It will be overhead most of the night. I tried my hand at more Milky Way photography over Labor Day weekend in a remote part of northern Pennsylvania.
Thanks for reading! The best things in life are free, and not too many things are free anymore; however, looking at the night sky is still one of those things. Thanks for reading! Just look up; you never know what you will see.
