Weekly pattern outlook into mid-April
Welcome to spring! However, persistent high-latitude blocking near Greenland will keep the jet stream suppressed farther south compared to normal into the first 10 days of April, leading to widespread below-normal temperatures, especially across the Lower 48 states. Keep in mind, though, average temperatures are steadily climbing now that the direct rays of the sun are now north of the equator and the daylight continues to rapidly increase. So temperatures that are 2 to 6 degrees Celsius below normal this time of year do not feel all that cold, especially if the sun is shining.
