EXPERT FORECAST NEW
AccuWeather Meteorologists
Updated January 17, 2026
New York City: Saturday snow, then a coastal storm on Sunday

A clipper storm will bring snow of varying intensity into Saturday afternoon in the New York City area. Some streets, sidewalks and parking lots will receive a slushy coating with up to a few inches of snow in the northern and western suburbs. On Sunday and Sunday night, a storm moving up off the Atlantic Coast will graze the area with snow. This time the greatest chance of up to a few inches of snow will be just outside the city along the New Jersey coast and on Long Island, New York. However, if the storm strengthens significantly, heavier snow may be thrown farther to the northwest, toward the city and beyond.
