...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER RISK TODAY... An elevated risk for fire spread exists this afternoon around northern Illinois and northwestern Indiana. The combination of dry air, gusty northwest winds, and recent dry conditions may make fires difficult to manage and could cause them to spread rapidly. Use extra caution while burning and disposing of burning materials today, including leaves and other vegetation.
