For the third year in a row, AccuWeather is recognized with digital awards for providing a superior weather app experience to users worldwide.

AccuWeather Global Weather Center – October 22, 2015 – AccuWeather, the global leader in weather information and digital media, today announced the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), for the third year in a row, has recognized AccuWeather with digital awards – a Gold award for the AccuWeather iOS app and Silver award for the AccuWeather Android app. The W3 Awards are the most recent among numerous accolades that recognize AccuWeather's success in providing the best weather app experience with Superior Accuracy™, personalizing the weather so people can improve their lives.

“AccuWeather is honored to again be recognized by the AIVA for the appealing, intuitive design and unique benefits of our award-winning apps available across mobile devices,” said Steven Smith, President of Digital Media at AccuWeather. "As the world’s largest and fastest growing weather company, digital innovation is foundational to our success. This recognition serves as additional proof of performance that AccuWeather is providing the best weather app experience users want with the Superior Accuracy they trust.”

“We were amazed at the caliber and quality of work we received this year from the smallest agencies to the biggest firms worldwide. As the Web continues to expand in new and exciting ways, our winners continue to truly push the envelope of Internet creativity and web design,” said Linda Day, the Director of the IAVA. “On behalf of the 600+ members of The Academy Interactive and Visual Arts, we are honored to recognize our winners as they continue to set a high standard of excellence for Web development.”

Popular AccuWeather app features include AccuWeather MinuteCast®, the only global minute-by-minute precipitation forecast for a person's exact street address or GPS location and The RealFeel Temperature®, AccuWeather's patented technology that analyzes multiple weather factors to determine how the local temperature actually feels. App users can also receive automatic, pushed severe weather alerts to stay informed and safe. AccUcast® is available on the AccuWeather iOS app, an exciting crowdsourcing feature through which users can share their local weather and potentially hazardous conditions on interactive weather maps worldwide.

The tenth Annual W3 Awards is sanctioned and judged by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from a "Who's Who" of acclaimed media, interactive, advertising, and marketing firms. Receiving more than 4,800 entries, the 2015 W3 Awards honor creative excellence and recognize the creative professionals behind the award winning solutions.

The AccuWeather app for Android phone and tablet users is available as a free download from the Google Play store. The AccuWeather app for iPhone users is available as a free download from the www.AppStore.com.
