High river levels today may lead to flooding. Flooding continues to pose a risk. Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads including communities near to the River Trent, and cellars of low-lying properties at Cavendish Bridge. No further rainfall is forecast. River levels at Shardlow Gauge remain high. We are closely monitoring the situation. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water & avoid using low-lying footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated by 17:00 on 22 December 2025 or as the situation changes.
