UK: Cool, wet weather to develop early this week
While Sunday brought seasonable temperatures and largely dry weather, a fresh bout of chilly precipitation is on the horizon for the United Kingdom early this week.
Highs across the south of Britain were within a few degrees of 15 C (near 59 F). A light wind and sunny periods lead to a typical spring day for most locations.
However, the weather pattern is poised to take a wintry turn early this week.

“A cold front will move across the United Kingdom on Monday, bringing chilly and breezy conditions to the area,” said AccuWeather Meteorologist Rob Richards.
Temperature contrasts will be most noticeable in northern portions of the U.K., where high temperatures will be up to 4-5 degrees Celsius (about 8 degrees Fahrenheit) lower on Monday than on Sunday.
“There will also be some showers, and some of these can be wintry across Scotland and the hills of northern England during the early part of the week,” said Richards.
While this front will cross southern Britain by midday on Monday, temperature highs will remain near seasonable levels. Isolated showers will arrive on Monday afternoon with the passage of the front.
Colder air, a brisk wind and more numerous showers will move into Wales and southern England on Tuesday.
AccuWeather Meteorologist Tyler Roys said "The heaviest of the outbreaks on Tuesday as far south as London, Norwich and Manchester could be thundery with hail, along with a brief downpour."
The weather pattern will remain active over the U.K. through the upcoming week, keeping wet weather and below-average temperatures in the forecast.
