Photos: Severe storms pummel southeastern US
A chain of severe storms swept through the Southeast and up the East Coast on Wednesday, threatening lives and property across the region.
The storms stretched from Indiana to Georgia into early Thursday morning, bringing with them large hail, isolated tornadoes and wind gusts up to 70 mph.
The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center stated there were over 300 preliminary storm reports across Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Florida and the Carolinas on Wednesday and Wednesday night. At least 10 tornadoes have been reported in Georgia, South Carolina and Indiana.
As the severe weather swept into the Augusta, Georgia, area, spectators, event staff and players of the Masters were forced to evacuate the grounds during Wednesday morning. Augusta National was later reopened around 12:30 p.m. EDT, before more storms forced the course to close for the day around 1:20 p.m.

Two people were reported injured near McMinnville, Tennessee, after damaging thunderstorms moved through the area, according to the 911 call center. Law enforcement reported that in both cases, a mobile home was destroyed, possibly by tornadoes.
