Wilma Proves Deadly in Caribbean
Even though she's not even close to land, Wilma has proven deadly in the Caribbean. The caption for the AccuWeather.com AP Photo (shown below) reads:
Hondurans walks during a heavy rain from Hurricane Wilma in Puerto Castilla, 591 km (about 365 miles) north of Tegucigalpa, Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, in Honduras. Wilma, once the most intense storm the Americas have ever seen, blasted Caribbean coastlines on Wednesday and threatened to slam into Cancun and southern Florida. With 13 people already dead, alarmed officials began evacuations from Honduras to the Florida Keys. (AP Photo)
The Guardian reports that heavy rain has caused flooding in Haiti and also power outages in Honduras.
