White Xmas Myth, NE Update
First, I'd like to thank those of you who have written in with praise for my blog entry "Climate Origins of a White Christmas". It was really a lot of fun to research and I'm glad I can add some definitive proof to why Christmases are supposed to be White. (It's a really rare day that I can publish and article that hasn't already been written by other websites). If you haven't read the entry, you should check it out, and forward it on to friends for the Holiday season.
A couple of quick updates to my entry on Historical Probabilities of a White Christmas. One, I added this more attractive (but less detailed) White Christmas map, drawn by our talented TV Graphics Artists here at AccuWeather HQ:
I also added this link from Cornell University. It has a more comprehensive, longer-ranging historical probability of a white Christmas for selected cities in the Northeast, written in 2004.
