Was Iditarod Moved Due to Global Warming?
Since I own a Siberian Husky, I felt it appropriate to bring you this article telling of how the Iditarod Sled Dog Race has changed due to lack of snow and urban sprawl (sled dogs don't like to run on asphalt). The changes to the race are:
- 18 Mile Sprint Reduced by 7 Miles
- Starting Point Moved 30 Miles North
Now, since the race just started in 1973 I think you'd be hard pressed to relate this to long-term Climate Change, but feel free to comment on this article on the new AccuWeather.com Forums (note - they are undergoing maintenance today so try back later if they don't work).
