Votes Are In Beta is the Winner
On September 19th, I asked you the readers, this question:
What will the last Atlantic storm name be this year?
-
Rita
-
Stan
-
Tammy
-
Vince
-
Wilma
-
Alpha
-
Beta
-
Gamma
-
Even More
Now that Stan has formed, voting is closed. Who was the winner?
BETA, by a considerable margin.
Almost no one thought Rita or Stan would be the last storm; Vince and Alpha were close, but Beta had 1/4 of the vote. 15% of you even thought we'd get farther than beta. Well, time will tell. The record we're trying to beat, by the way, is 21 named storms; 1933 boasts the record. So far we've had 19 (TD #19 has not been named yet).
