Video Of Exploding Sewer Flood Water
I usually don't pass these types of things on unless they are of recent weather, but you have to see this incredible video of a city sewer exploding with flood waters. This could be the most incredible weather-related video I've ever seen, and is a great example of what havoc heavy thunderstorm rains can wreak. Here is a permalink to YouTube andalso one on (ironically) LiveLeak.com.
You can tell it's flooding-related because, in addition to the heavy rain that has recently fallen, you'll see lightning several times. After it explodes the first time, note that the 5-foot metal lid of the sewer is blown completely off and a truck runs into it. Then, keep watching as the truck's occupant gets out and tries to move the lid, but the hole explodes with water again, causing him to run under the bridge.
FACT OR FICTION? As you know, I try to research where photos or videos came from before I post them. I have pointed out that some are hoaxes or mislabeled with time or place. The video is dated July 3, 1999 at 5:20 am. According to YouTube, it's from Minnesota, but these types of things have a knack for getting passed around and mislabeled, so I might have to do some research and find out if there were even heavy storms in the state at that time.
