Update On Possible NYC Hurricane
Looking at the overnight Model Spread [JessePedia] this morning, as many models are on land, as off, as of 06Z.
HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE: Other major hurricanes to hit the New York City area (besides the obvious reference of the 1938 Cat 3 monster) include Gloria (1985), Donna (1960), and Bob (1991). But I wonder if this will end up being like Tropical Storm Beryl in 2006, which had much hype but stayed mostly offshore from Long Island / New York City and, other than making for some beautiful RadarPlus images offshore from Long Island, but turned out being quite lame. For more on Beryl, "Search This Blog" at right for "Beryl".
