TX Extremes: 14-Foot Snow Drifts Vs. 100 Deg.
As Chris Burt [JessePedia], Author of "Extreme Weather" pointed out to me yesterday: "While several localities in southern Texas hit 100° yesterday (101° at McAllen for instance) a major blizzard was raging in north Texas like Amarillo with 19° and 8" of snow with 10-foot drifts!"

Indeed, I saw at least a range of 80 degrees (19 to 99) yesterday afternoon, and the Blizzard got worse... at noon today, Hemphill, Texas reported 15 inches of snow with 7-foot drifts... in Dalhart, drifts were reported to 14 feet! 12-foot drifts were also reported in Stratford, TX. I-40 was shut down due to an accident near Whitaker, TX.
The blizzard also dropped 28 inches of snow at Coldwater, Kansas where they also reported snow drifts to 6 feet. Highway 54 was closed in Kansas due to the storm. 25 inches of snow was reported near Fort Supply, Oklahoma with 5-foot drifts. 10-foot drifts were also reported at Knowles, Turpin and Beaver, OK.
