Severe Winter Thunderstorms in Midwest

This is one of those rare situations where you see balls of ice falling and you're not sure if they are sleet or hail! Below is a radar animation of the event.

Severe thunderstorms with hail up to an inch in diameter were reported in Illinois this evening, but that's not all - they were accompanied with sleet and freezing rain, and over a foot of snow fell in Iowa.
