SD: Power Still Out, Record Cold In
I told you earlier this week that over 50,000 households had lost power in South Dakota during the blizzard and ice storm which was accompanied by 70-mph winds and 8-foot drifts. According to the Sioux City Journal, 8,000 power poles were snapped, downing electricity for 10,000 miles of lines. Nearly 30 schools have been closed all week.
Unfortunately, 44 towns still are without power and record cold temperatures have moved in, as has more snow.
