Plains Storms: Big Hail, Warnings, Radar
UPDATE (Thursday): No tornadoes were reported, but we had an 80 mph wind gust in Oklahoma, to add to the 2.5" hail report mentioned below. All told, over 100 severe weather reports were issued.
Severe thunderstorms are breaking out in the Plains this afternoon. This was something that I didn't cover initially because Henry (PREMIUM | PRO) was doing a good job, and I wasn't sure how big the outbreak was going to be. Then this morning The SPC [JessePedia] issued a Moderate Risk, albeit tiny, that is fairly unusual this time of year. Henry says tornadoes are possible this evening.
This afternoon, storms are breaking out across Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska; below is a high-resolution radar shot from around 3:15 Central Time (from a super-secret radar project that I'm working on for AccuWeather.com).

Up to 2.5" hail has been reported to the StormMatrix. Keep an eye on the stats below as they increase during the evening.
