Photos: High Surf in Portugal, OK, But Italy?

The strong storm that passed through Europe earlier this week, bringing the coldest and snowiest October day to many places (see J's Breaking Weather News at right) also caused huge waves on the coast of Portugal [WikiPedia] (OK fine, they have the Atlantic there)... but also on the coast of Italy from the Mediterranean Sea!

Yachting Monthly also tells of severe boat damage and one death on the island of Majorca [WikiPedia] off Spain's east cost. SkyNews adds that a ferry nearly capsized in the Italian port of Genoa (shown below) amid 70 mph winds. Check out these photos courtesy* the Associated Press:
