Midwest Ice, Sleet Amounts Pass One Inch
UPDATE: Sunday evening; few changes to the list below. This article is quoting 51,000 without power in Oklahoma and Illinois and this one quotes "tens of thousands" without power in Missouri. But the Ameren website listed a more dire situation, with 347,949 without power in 95 zipcodes in Missouri, with 188,952 out in 64 zipcodes in Illinois. Below is video of the ice and traffic accidents in Tulsa, Oklahoma, from affiliate KOTV.

VIDEO CAPTION: Some Oklahoma residents woke up to a wintry blast on Sunday (12/9) morning. Ice coated everything from trees to power lines to cars and roads. A number of accidents were reported.
Blog reader Mike reports "The ice storm just missed the St. Louis metro area. Power outages are fairly extensive to our west in St. Charles county and points westward. Columbia, MO is hit hard and the NWS in Columbia lost its NOAA weather radio transmitter as well."

The funny (or not funny) thing is that another storm system will bring more ice to the area late Monday into Tuesday.
ORIGINAL POST:
The following are the highest amounts of freezing rain reported in this latest Midwest Ice Storm. It's too early this Sunday morning to see any photos, video, or much news about this event, but I can guarantee we'll be counting the power outages in the hundreds of thousands later today. Stay tuned to this blog for updates including video.
