Lots of Snow with Lightning in Midwest

Many official observing stations in Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa have reported lightning or distant lightning along with snow, sleet or freezing rain this morning.

A quick check with AccuWeather.com RadarPlus & AccuWeather.com LightningPlus (click for larger image above) shows that quite a few cloud-to-ground lightning strikes have been detected this morning, in fact an unusual amount with a count near 3000 in the last two hours. Some of the earlier lightning was mixing with rain on the southernmost edge of the precipitation, but it's definitely all snow in Wisconsin as the lightning moves northeastward.
