HYPE: South Plains Flooding, DGEX Tropical?
I know it's that time of year folks, but I'm not seeing much on the Tropical Atlantic radar for the next two weeks as far as this afternoon's (12Z) model hype goes. Plains Flooding though, yeah, we've got more of that.
The only hope for hurricane fans is a storm developing off the Carolina coast (but moving out to sea) on July 2nd, according to the DGEX. The European and WaveWatch models hint at a trough of low pressure developing in the region, but it's not clear from any of them if it's truly a tropical storm. GFS is clueless.
As if the people in the southern Plains need any more flooding... but that's what the models are saying... GFS, NMM, and European, it just depends on which model you ask as to where and how much rain will fall, and GFS is saying more than NMM, which is typical:
