Hurricane Dolly on RadarPlus
Hurricane Dolly is approaching land this morning. A buoy in the Gulf is reporting waves over 22 feet and the weather station at Brownsville,TX has gusted to 60 mph. Here are some images of the storm via AccuWeather.com RadarPlus, our interactive radar display system that also shows surface observations, satellite and lightning. In this first shot, you can see the dark blue indicating low pressure in the eye (where there is no radar data because there are no storms) while winds spiral in around her.
And here's a look at the eye approaching the coast at 9:30 AM Eastern Time. You can see that there are plenty of advisories out for Dolly. You can download* a 9-hour radar loop of her approach here.
