Epic Texas, New Mexico Snowfall

Jan 10, 2012; 10:28 AM ET

UPDATE: The NWS in Midland, Texas has issued this map showing up to 15 inches of snow in New Mexico.

According to the NWS, Midland, Texas set a record yesterday for snowfall... the 10.6 inches was not just the most snow in one day... they had never seen that much snow on any day, and it tipped the scales to a record snow for for an entire season! Here's an approximate map of the snowfall that fell in the area, and in neighboring New Mexico.

San Angelo also set a daily snow record with 2.6 inches. Although the NWS reported a maximum spotter report of 4 inches at Ski Bluewood, Red River, NM reported 7 inches, and an AccuWeather.com fan uploaded this picture of 9 inches of snow at Hobbs, New Mexico and another Facebook user uploaded an impressive photo and reported 11 inches:
