Droughtless in Seattle, 92 In. of Snow
I am once again behind on covering the latest snow assault on the Pacific Northwest. As you probably already heard, there was not only heavy snow in the mountains, but snow levels were extremely low and the white stuff was observed in places that usually get rain. Record lows were also set, as were monthly rain (liquid/melted precipitation) records. Astoria, Portland, Troutdale and Vancouver (WA) all set monthly rain records.
This site says that Washington State's Crystal Mountain received 54 inches in 4 days and 92 inches in the last week. Action Steve Penstone (PREMIUM | PRO) has webcam shots from Washington, and also from Colorado, where the storm is dumping snow today.
Paul Yeager (PREMIUM | PRO) has more information on the storm, for example:
A blog reader also clued me in to the record snow at Abbotsford, British Columbia, which got 45 cm (17.7 inches) according to news articles such as this one.It was the most snow the city had seen in 10 years.
