Accu Employee To Witness HI Hurricane?
UPDATE SATURDAY: Here is our latest prediction:
ORIGINAL POST:
Our CIO, also known as "Steve," popped his head in my office late Friday (OK, we have an open cubicle area, so he just walked in) and said he has a vacation scheduled for Hawaii next week. Now, Steve is also a meteorologist, so he already knew that Hurricane Flossie was in the Eastern Pacific, moving toward the islands.
She looks pretty good on satellite as of Friday afternoon and the models take her track close to the Big Island next week (see Model Spread [JessePedia] graphic above). Steve plans to be at South Point (so named because it's the southern tip of the Big Island and also the southern tip of our great nation) next week and says he'll send photos and observations of the weather there. The official NAVY track has her as a strong tropical storm south of the island Tuesday. Lucky Dog, I say!
