25 States Will Fall Below 0
The coldest weather outbreak of the season is moving into the Northern Plains today and will move into the Northeast this weekend. At least 10 states will see temperatures below zero and oil prices are already reacting.
Temperatures this morning were already as low as -20 in the Northern Plains; highs tomorrow will struggle to get above -10.
I snapped the photo below of the Groundhog himself, looking at the Pro site's AccuModel predictions for next week (see below), showing low temperatures below zero in the Northeast, so I don't know what the little bugger was thinking by declaring that spring was coming early this year. I think he might have been paid off by the global warming proponents.
Here's our prediction for low temperatures Tuesday morning:
States Below Zero: ID*, CO*, NM*, MT, WY, NE, ND, SD, MN, IA, WI, MI, IL, IN, OH, KY, WV, VA, MD, PA, NJ, NY, VT, NH, ME.
States Below Negative 10: CO*, MT, ND, SD, MN, IA, WI, MI, NY, VT, NH, MA, CT, RI, ME.
States Below Negative 20: MT, ND, NY, SD*, WI*, MN
*States will hit the temp between now and Tuesday but not on Tuesday
High temperatures will be in the single digits for many locations in the Northeast Sunday:
The forecast looks pretty grim for AccuWeather HQ:
On the graph (from the AccuWeather.com Planner) you can hardly even see the "normal" LOW temperature line (black, at the top).
That's right, we're projecting 4 and 7 Sunday for our low and high, with a RealFeel of -20. Tuesday we should hit 0 for our low temperature. If you compare to last year or normals, you can see our forecast temperatures cowering in the left column of the graph:
