2010 Lake-Effect Snow Ready to Rock & Roll
On this first day of 2010, lake-effect snow is rocking and rolling. This will be a big, multi-day event with over a foot of snow in the favored locations southeast of the lakes. This is one of those storms that will dump at least a foot in the Laurel Highlands also (Local storm chaser Ron "R-Factor" Shawley who lives in Vinco, PA is quick to point out that they get localized heavy snow with these events due to their high elevation and upsloping on the west slopes). You'll want to keep an eye on the webcams below and the other ones on my Lake-Effect Snow Cams list (which you can always access at right under "Categories: Extras"). Watch the snow bands snake around on AccuWeather.com MapSpace™ (PREMIUM | PRO).
