Severe storms in the Deep South Sunday, then cold air heads south
A storm pushing through the Southeast Sunday will cause an outbreak of severe storms from Louisiana to South Carolina, with another soaking rain to the north and snow on its northern fringe. Behind the storm, unusual cold will plunge south and it will cool off, even down in Florida. The cold sticks around through the middle of the week before it starts to turn warmer again later in the week. The next storm to affect the South later next week looks weaker and won't have enough cold air to cause much in the way of winter weather. A second and more substantial storm will move through the eastern part of the nation next weekend. The concern with it looks to be more for severe weather than for snow and ice for the South. In fact, this might well be the last storm that brings any Southerners snow or ice this season.
