Spring Tickler
The early taste of spring continues across the Southwest, despite the overnight passage of a cold front that did little to dent the warmth that has enveloped the region over the past several days. The warmth will continue to build over the next few days, with Phoenix expected to record its first 90-degree day of the year on Sunday.
On Friday, a weak storm system will move out of the Rockies onto the Plains. The system will tap into the flow of warm air from the Gulf of Mexico, resulting in some showers in Texas and Oklahoma before the system moves to the east. There will not be enough stability in the atmosphere for the development of severe thunderstorms.
According to the Top News report, the storm will bring a mix of ice and snow to upstate New York and New England by late Saturday.
