Showers and thunderstorms signal approach of cooler and drier air
Showers and thunderstorms can signal the approach of various types of weather. In the summertime they often signal the approach of a cold front, as is the case today. The radar shows several bands of showers and thunderstorms proceeding eastward from Ohio and Pennsylvania. Although this will limit heating somewhat, there should be enough daytime heating for the thunderstorms to become stronger during the course the afternoon. Remember that as a warning is issued for your locality, it is a good idea to move to a safe place until the threat passes. Some of the showers and thunderstorms will be heavy enough to cause very quick flooding, so watch for that.

Rain maybe slow to leave the Northeast coastal areas tomorrow, but it appears that at least several days of fine weather will follow. At first it will be cooler and much more comfortable than reason days, but then it will become warmer and more humid.
This map for midweek shows a high pressure area spreading across the northeastern Midwest.

Since the isobars are fairly far and parked near this high pressure area, we can expect the weather to be rather tranquil. We are approaching the time of year when lengthening nights offer the opportunity for temperatures to drop. When the temperature reaches the saturation point, fog can form. The following picture was taken last week on the morning when fog did occur.
