Storms will develop northwest of Minneapolis and will move southeast toward Chicago. These storms can produce wind gusts to 70 mph, large hail and a few isolated tornadoes.

"After midnight tonight, these storms will move into Wisconsin, eastern Iowa and northern Illinois. By this time, wind gusts up to 70 mph and flooding rains will be the main threat," Alyson Hoegg, AccuWeather Meteorologist said.

The renewed threat of damaging winds and flash flooding will put the cities of Minneapolis; Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Madison, Wisconsin; and Chicago at risk of slower travel on the roads and delays in the air.

Thunderstorms will congregate and gain strength along the dividing line between steamy air to the south and dry, cool air to the north.
