NYC: Warmth to return following cool, damp start to the week
Warmer weather is set to return to the New York City area despite rounds of showers and patchy fog.
Clouds, rain and a breeze from the northeast held temperatures at chilly levels to start the week.
While commuters may have to contend with a stray shower on Tuesday morning, clouds could thin enough to allow for some sunny breaks in the afternoon.

The sunshine will allow temperatures to climb into the upper 50s F on Tuesday.
Further warming is expected on Wednesday, with temperatures set to reach the low 60s under some sunshine. A stray afternoon shower is possible, but much of Wednesday will be dry.
The dry breaks on Tuesday and Wednesday will allow city residents to get outside and enjoy the milder temperatures by opening the windows, walking the dog or riding a bike.
Additional showers are possible from Thursday afternoon into Friday. High temperatures will be within a few degrees of 60.
Much cooler air will settle in during Palm Sunday weekend. A storm could bring rain and wet snow to the Northeastern states on Sunday.
