How to listen to AccuWeather's Weather Insider podcast: Get the latest on the 'why' behind the current weather
In early March 2019, AccuWeather launched the daily podcast "Weather Insider," featuring AccuWeather COO and Meteorologist Evans Myers and Chief Video Meteorologist Bernie Rayno.
"Podcasts give you a little bit of a chance to do storytelling and share information in a deeper way," said AccuWeather's Director of Broadcasting and Information Services and weekly podcast co-producer, Ken Prehl.

AccuWeather Chief Video Meteorologist Bernie Rayno (left) and COO and Meteorologist Evan Myers (right) talk about the "why" of weather in their podcast, Weather Insider.
In Weather Insider, Myers and Rayno use storytelling to discuss the weather hot spots of the day across the U.S. and how weather might impact events from flight delays to sporting events such as the NFL Draft.
"A lot of times we’re giving you the forecast of what is going to occur. We wanted to get into more an in-depth conversation of why the weather was going to do what it was going to do," Rayno said.
The podcast gives an "inside look" at the weather and possible ways to navigate its impacts through the day. The two hold discussions that perhaps wouldn't be in a normal broadcast, such as talking about the the science of meteorology and then sometimes debating what they think is going to happen.
"It gives folks the background of the forecast and talks about some of the complexities. Nothing is black and white," Myers said.
Myers and Rayno work to deliver the forecast and its background in an entertaining and informative way.
"The fact that we're getting thousands of listeners and that number is growing every day, the fact that people find what we're talking about interesting, informative, that's why we're in this field," Rayno said.
