Glastonbury Festival 2019: Muddy week in store as rain continues over the West Country
After nearly two weeks of downpours across the South West of England, the forecast is looking less than ideal for Glastonbury Festival.
The iconic event, which has more than 130,000 people attend, takes place this year from June 26-30 at Worthy Farm.
Unfortunately for ticket holders, rain is forecast to continue across the West Country following an already very wet start to June. This is abnormal for this region of the United Kingdom.

The persistent downpours have totaled more than double the normal June rainfall in some parts of the country.
“Festivalgoers should expect it to be wet, but nothing like it is now,” AccuWeather Meteorologist Tyler Roys said. “It will mainly be showery.”
However, significant footfall combined with the already wet conditions mean mud will once again be the theme of the week.
Roys said: “The grounds are going to be soaked from the recent rains. Therefore, it’s going to be a muddy mess.”
In addition to packing wellies and raincoats, campers will want to ensure they have waterproof gear for tents, warm layers and plenty of spare clothes to change into.
The normal low for this time of year is around 11 degrees Celsius (51 F).
Despite the wet conditions, however, daytime temperatures throughout the week have a chance at being slightly above the average of 21 C (70 F). So, when it is not raining, temperatures will be quite tolerable.
