RealFeel Temps Topping 115 F This Week!
The hottest weather of the summer has hit this week, with RealFeel temperatures in the 100s on the East Coast as far north as New York state. Even here in State College, Pennsylvania, we hit 100 degrees for a RealFeel on noon Wednesday (Fig. 1).
Farther south, it was even worse. However, my mother-in-law, who was vacationing in Duck, North Carolina, had a RealFeel of 105, while her home town of York, Pa., (Fig. 2) made it to 103 Wednesday at noon!
The worst I saw was 115 (Fig. 3) at Melva, Virginia, but RealFeel temps were also over 100 in the Foothills of North Carolina. This weekend, for the first day of summer, RealFeels in the 100-teens are projected to take over the Deep South, as this scary-looking graphic shows:
