O.T.: Pigs Taxiing Down the Runway
Like I said in January...
I think I just bought a house.
Of course, I was wrong then, so I'll believe this one when the key's in my hands. Closing will be in April or May and there's a lot of packing to do (I'm a bit of a pack rat). Still, this house is much better and newer than the last one so we're pretty darn happy. To avoid jinxing (huh?), I'll post a picture when I'm more confident that we're really going to close the deal with no problems.
You'll note on the J-CAM that I'm (once again) celebrating with an I-Bought-A-House-Hawaiian-Shirt-Friday.
Assuming that we really do get this one... here's a list of ways that our new house will beat the pants off of our rental house (which has served us well for eight years, but is showing its age).
New house won't have "That 70's Stove" (pea-green, baby)
Three bathrooms are always better than one
Trading 5 window unit air conditioners for Central Air (better for the allergies)
No power lines in front of the weather cam (big plus!)
First time we've ever owned a garage (or any car shelter for that matter)
First time we've ever owned a dishwasher (trade dishwashing time for blogging!)
15 minute drive to work reduced to 2
Ownership of the lawn maintenance and landscaping (buy shares of Chemlawn now)
Let's keep our fingers crossed!
