Marco weaker; now, all eyes on Laura
All eyes turn to Laura today as Marco fades.

Forecasts showing two Hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico have not come true; Hurricane Marco has weakened to a Tropical Storm and is making landfall today, without much fanfare.
Marco Satellite 8/24 AM
Marco's center is completely exposed without any thunderstorms, which are hitting the Florida panhandle to the northeast of the storm. I couldn't even find a storm surge higher than 1.5 feet, or winds above 35 knots, even on buoys.
This waterspout yesterday ahead of Marco might be its biggest legacy:
After causing a bit of chaos in Puerto Rico and becoming deadly in Hispaniola, Tropical Storm Laura is moving a little south of its initial forecast track, and as a result now could be a stronger hurricane, with official forecasts showing a Category 2, and a handful of models saying it could get even stronger:
Laura's landfall, however, could be in a very similar place in Louisiana. You can keep up with the latest on Marco and Laura on our Live Blog, and on my Twitter & Facebook feeds:
