The official AccuWeather Europe summer forecast for 2019 will be released on Wednesday, but I wanted to give a sneak peek today.
The biggest story of the summer is expected to be the intense heat that will put millions of people at risk for heat-related illnesses.
The most intense and frequent heat is expected from the Iberian Peninsula into Poland.
Along with the heat, dry weather is expected for much of the season leading to a high risk for wildfires across the same areas. The greatest concern will be for the northern Iberian Peninsula and from central Germany into the Alps.
The most frequent severe weather is expected across the Balkan Peninsula with threats ranging from flash flooding to damaging winds, hail and isolated tornadoes.
Overall, tranquil weather is expected for the British Isles, though drought concerns may rise as the season progresses.
Check back on Wednesday for a more detailed forecast for the upcoming summer in your area.
