Warmth to linger in the East through the end of the month
By Brett Anderson, AccuWeather senior meteorologist
Updated Sep 13, 2021 8:33 AM EDT
The strong negative phase of the PNA oscillation will likely keep much of western Canada and the Pacific Northwest cooler and somewhat wetter for the next two weeks, while a persistent ridge of high pressure across eastern North America will keep much of eastern/Atlantic Canada and the eastern United States unseasonably warm with near- to below-normal rainfall.
This type of pattern will also likely favor some opportunities for early-season snowfall in the higher elevations of the Coast Mountains and Canadian Rockies over the next few weeks.
